Hi there, I’m Kara! 

I’m a dedicated, heart-centered educator with over a decade of experience working with children from infancy through high school. I founded To The Moon Tutoring in 2026, after leaving the classroom in 2025 to help more students in the way that best suits them.

All of my instruction incorporates student interest and child-led curiosity, which allows them to love learning. Whether a struggling learner or high achieving student looking to go even further, my mission is to educate all students and provide support and resources to meet every student's needs. Understanding my students’ backgrounds allows me to shape my lessons more efficiently and ensure my students feel represented in their academic work.

I take a thoughtful, encouraging, and individualized approach to academic instruction. I blend my background in education and psychology with a warm, trauma-informed, responsive style that prioritizes connection, student motivation, and student development. I value empathy, respect, and patience in everything I do, and I encourage every child to reach their potential with joy and resilience.
